Could Donnie Walsh Win On "Who's Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?"

Trying to understand the Knicks moves, or attempted moves aren't helping my migraines any at all. They spent the last week trying to chase the 1994 co-rookies of the year when neither has won a ring yet and they both know they won't be winning one in New York any time soon. Knicks fans are still fuming over them not doing enough to move up and draft Stephen Curry, but the things that have happened since the draft have not been comforting either. Now it seems their plan B is to pursue Andre Miller. What I don't understand is why are the Knicks consumed with signing veterans that marginally help the team? Either pursue top line talent or young players with top line potential.

Everyone knows the Knicks are trying to save money and the moves they have made so far have done that. But wouldn't it be nice if the Knicks could hit a home run with young talent. The closest they have come so far is David Lee. I like Lee but he's not a home run he's more like a triple. Good but not great. They need to go after good young players that can be added to the team for decent salaries and not make it necessary to have to sign two superstars next year. They also need to try to get in on trades with guys like Stoudemire or Boozer. The fact is that the Knicks aren't in love with David Lee (for some reason) so do a sign and trade with someone you do love.

The Knicks also need to stop speaking publicly until they accomplish something because it doesn't help their cause at all. D'Antoni recently said that Danillo Galinari will be the key to signing a major free agent next season. Reread that last sentence. These guys are trying to give Knicks fans corollaries. The bottom line is they need a young point guard (not Andre Miller) and there are some available. They need to make a couple of trades and they have decent assets. Most importantly, they need to do these things soon because with the Mets stinking it up, the Yankees praying to make the playoffs, and the NY/NJ football teams having major moves this off-season, the best thing going for the state of New York is T.O.'s arrival in Buffalo and it is too cold to move there.
